Alright I bought GTP a few months ago. the kid i bought it from said it had 180*T stat, 104plugs, pcm, and 3.4 pulley. and said the tranny was re geared. I didint bother checking any thing, Drove it 5,000 miles and threw a rod. i took it all a part to find out it was bone stock expect the 3.4 pulley. As im putting a new motor in, I am putting 180*T stat, 3inch Down pipe, u bend delete, 104 plugs. and a tuned PCM. would i be safe running the 3.4 pulley?.. And my other question is about the tranny. at about 70 MPH i sit right about 3k RPM is that normal?

Sounds high...even my 3.29 car ran about 2500 or so around 70...so maybe the tard put 3.69's in it? Only one way to tell...take the transmission apart.

Is there any way to find out what the actual gearing is?.. and maybe that would explaine why it seems quick outta the hole? ha I dont really have much of a clue. this is my first car that I actually pulled a motor in and pretty much my first time doing any thing with a car be for it was all about the dirt bikes / pit bikes lmao

sounds like what id run if i were doing 75 with 3.29s, but if youre going higher than that i would almost guess that he put 3.69s in the car which would be retarded for the street.

sounds like 3.69 gears or no forth maybe

as far as the 3.4 pulley you should be fine with those mods added plus some sort of open cone intake

98 gtp sedan forest green ,S1X intense cam,Intense pcm,Magnaflow exhaust, ubend delete,TEP trans 3.29's,3.4 smoothflow mps,Dyno'd 281hp and 371ft #'s of trq at the wheels

According to everything I have learned about these cars, 3.4 with no headers or at least pems = boom. Instead of a 3" downpipe, get some SSAC headers that will include the downpipe. That might be the reason you lost your last engine.

2002 GTP: GMPP Sway Bars, BMR trailing arms, KYB AGX/Vogtlands, 12" brake upgrade
    Modified SSAC headers, K&N Intake, 3.4 MPS, S1X, Gen V, 104's, HPTuned.

Yeah it shifts into 4th. the kid told me what gears were in it but i dont rember. let alone who knows if he was lying. i do recall it sounding like it was out there. I think he said some thing about 4.xx gears? but I could be 110% wrong too i just rember it being bizzar.. but i got the car fora steal he wanted 3,000 talked him down to 2,500 then when i seen him i swiftly talked him down to 2,200 then 'counted' my money and 'realized' i only had 1,500 on me and my buddy 'happen to have 150 on him that hed barrow me' so in the end i got it for 1,650 haha. I think his daddy bought him the car and he has never seen that much cash so he was ready just to have cash in hand latter that night his dad called me complaing saying i ripped his son off. and wanted me to give him a nother 1000. I told him tuff he shouldint have let his retarded son go by him self to sell his car.

Oh and for headers that will be my next buy once i get the cash. but for temp would it be alright if i were to cut off the bottem part of the front manifold and re weld a bigger tube in? I seen some where they were saying the front manifold has the most restriction..

If it's a zzp pcm ditch that it could have been why you blew it up.
There is no replacement for displacement........unless you have a supercharger or turbo

2000 Bright Red GTP Coupe GXP axle back, GMPP sway bar, NGK TR6, 180 stat. (Uninstalled Aeroforce Interceptor, DHP PCM, FWI, Gen V on the way) and still no pulley in sight.
