Hey i have 600 bucks waiting to be spent. My 2000 grand prix gtp has 140k miles on it so i dont want to blow it up. I was ready to make my first two mods a CAI and 3" downpipe. Do you think i would notice a gain from making those my first two mods ? Will it pop the engine ?

yes you will feel a gain in performance, just make sure you do all maintainence first so you wont blow anything up. i would say short ram intake and headers and new plugs if i were you tho...

Pop it? No, your car will thankyou for the 3" dp. Will you feel the difference? Probably not.

Thats a good start, Id look into headers before you jump on the dp alot of the guys on here will say that they never should have wasted time with dp/ plog/ pems

another area you should look at is the front manifold they are really restrictive
soo if you wanna stay with the dp then get them ported or replace with a plog

but id recomend headers Pontiac Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

intake, exhaust, and a tune. You will feel it. I started with a ubend delete and a tune and it made an improvement. and the colder plugs, and t-stat are cheap, throw them in too.

Get SSAC Headers (Turbo Kits, Turbo Manifolds, Import Performance Products, SSAutochrome Inc.) and put a cone filter on the end of your TB. Like a Spectre from Advanced. Then get a Modular pulley system and pulley 3.4" .Colder plugs, Colder TStat, and New wires. Try to get a tune or a DHP PCM, then call it a day.
1999 GTPHP Tuned, Ported SC/TB, 42#'s, SSAC's, ZZP Modded 1.9's/LS6 Springs/Manley's, TransGo Shift Kit, Poly Uppers, KYB GR2's/Springtech's. - 231k and traded it in. - Gone
    2000 GTP: XP, P&P'd Heads, N*\Lq4 MAF, GenV, 42#'s, PRJ Rails\FPR, Racetronix, TEP w/ 3.29 Gears, 300m, 7/8" chain, SSAC's. - Collecting dust in my garage.

$600 and 140k miles? Save your money for when repairs pop up. At that mileage you could easily be overdue for supercharger oil, coolant flush, power steering flush, transmission "flush", brake fluid flush, spark plugs & wires, O2 sensors, and just about every bushing and piece of suspension on the car.
