Thread: what whp?

Im getting a dyno tune done tomorrow at tune time. What whp should i expect?

mods:

-L36
-open cone N*/LQ4
-headers
-genV with 3.6 mps
-1.9 rollers

I was thinking somewhere in the 250-275 range

I would think no more than 250WHP, but there are too many variables for us to guess for you...that is why you are getting on a dyno. What is your timing and boost at WOT, and what kind of dyno is it?

if your tune is going to be in check...240whp ish.

on a dyno jet with good air i could see upward of 260.

mustang dyno..... 235

240 mustang dyno, 255 on dyno jet..torque over 300 on both

okay here is the numbers. It was on a Mustang dyno, first let me start by saying Intense canned tunes are garbage, 9* of kr half way through 3rd and a/f was way way to lean, he couldn't finish the first pull. He was surprised my motor survived this long Matt did an awesome job tuning my car.

Pretty amazing difference, car doesn't fall on its face in 3rd anymore, the rocker arms show more and overall more solid

is up with the TQ output?

yeah, you should be making more torque than horsepower...by a generous amount.

yeah, i thought it looked low, I'm really not sure why. Maybe it has to do with the fact it was done on a mustang dyno. Anyone else get low tq #'s on a mustang dyno?

for some reason i here gtps are hard to get a good torque reading on. dont know why. but yea thats deff not right.


252 on a mustang dyno is pretty damn good. that would be close to 275 on a dyno jet. what kind of corrections where added. dynos can be made to read anything really.

Yeah, i was stoked to see what it put out. He basically told me the intense tune was a pos and he was surprised my motor survived. He fixed the a/f (it was blow up motor lean, He said the timing was way to aggressive, almost as aggressive as a n/a tune (which confuses me because intense told me it was mild) oh and the 9* of knock in 3rd (wtf). I don't know the a/f off hand, but i do know my stock injectors are just about maxed out. I have a printout sheet, ill post it up tomorrow after work.

oh don't worry, rematch time with the k20 civic

my bad, i ment dyno correction, SAE corrections.

but yea, i have a canned intense tune and there was ALOT that was off.
