hey, i have a 97 gtp, it runs really well, when i step on it half way enough to get the boost meter to kick on its fine and i love it, however if im going up a steep hill it starts to like choak out or if i put the pedal to the floor it does the same thing only much faster shorter sputs, i was thinking maybe a belt sliping or something, anyone know?

to tell you the truth it sounds like an ignition problem. does it only misfire like that under heavy load going uphill or on flat ground too?

get ahold of an OBD-II, some part stores will read it for free. thats where I started, it said missfire, so I started with plugs, when I went to change them the sparkplug wire fell apart in my hand, so I "african-american rigged it" back together, went back to the part store and bought new wires. and it was running better just from me fixing up that one wire, so I changed all the plugs and wires, and presto! Good as new.
