4th gear went out. $1300 for a rebuilt. Going to run in 3rd gear for a few months.

What kinda fuel economy you think I'll get? I average about 24 mpg with a 3.1liter

Well I'm getting about 20-21 mpgs. FYI I didn't change my driving style too much other than try to keep it under 65 mph. Mostly just stay right at the speed limit on the interestate to conserve fuel economy. Now I need a sticker that says "I can afford to drive faster than 55"

On my 95 monte carlo with a 3.1l, I didn't change my driving habits, and I was running about 20L/100km to around 30?/100km(somewhere around 8-12Mpg)

Thats running at 130km/h on the freeway, where the RPM's are screaming above 3500rpm, when passing someone, I'd be hitting damn near close to redline

Update....I'm getting 20 highway 22 city/mixed. Not too bad. She runs 3800 rpm at 75 mph though. If I keep her under 65 its not too bad....cars got 170,000 on it so I'm just gonna keep driving it till it goes.
