    Hi all,

it's 98 GT, and it has a LOW COOLANT light on most of the time due to bad sensor. It's been going on and off, but usually it stays on.
(edit: it stays on at its maximum bright)

Recently, it's started to flicker when driving. (I was driving when it happened, went away(stay bright) in a few minutes)

to describe it in more detail, it doesn't completely go off while flickering, it goes to "dimmed" like other interior lights when light's on.
but I know the cluster lights doesn't go dim when lights on.

Is the bulb going out or what?
it came back to normal (bright) today, by the way.

    Thanks!

Could be going out. If you unplug the sensor the light will never come on again and you will not have to worry about it.

Or you could change the sensor.

The sensors are known to go bad. But also, the hole can sometimes clog up and cause bad readings. If you are going to fix it, buy the new sensor, drain some coolant out, remove the old sensor, and check the hole. If the hole is gunked up, clean it out and install the old sensor and see if it works. If it does, return the new one.

Please elaborate. It is my understanding that the sensor only gives 1 or 0 (or PCM decides 1 or 0 according to sensor's reading).

Unless the sensor brightness is designed to indicate how low the level is, I don't think there is any reason for it to flicker.
