Ok here is the Issue:
Car will not run. It will turn over and start but will shut off after about 2-3 sec. after a few attempts, i got it running but would struggle to idle. fuel trims max out to 16 and wont go any higher as this is the limit on my 96's PC my trims are normally +- 4% I tested fuel pressure and key on engine off i get 32psi. engine running i get 18psi and saw one blip where it climbed to 41 then fell. vac line to Fuel pressure reg made no diff in pressure. before testing fuel pressure i did get a P0171 Bank 1 lean. the fuel filter was replaced about 2 months ago. MAF, MAP, TPS, O2 sensors all appear to display normal data.
My conclusion: Fuel pump. either the strainer is blocked or something is causing it to have drastically reduced output. Only neg is unlike the 2nd gen Wbody i have to drop the tank to get at pump. so figured i would post up for ideas of other things to check before i drain my 12 gal i have and drop it. i already have a new fuel pump and strainer for it and will pick up a new fuel filter to swap in while down there. so any suggestions would be appreciated :-)

Replaced Fuel pump and strainer. Car works Great! the hose to the filler neck was a pain but she is running good as ever. thanks all for the help.
