Well from looking around the forum I think I have found an new home seem like there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this board.
In October I purchased a 2004 Gran prix GTP car with about 75K on the clock over all the car has treated me good but two things have happened and I was looking for some input.
1) The inside/map lights started to come on by themselves at first this only happend on cold mornings (below 25*f) when making long left turns and would go out after hitting a large bump. I tired to unplug the pass side doors at the body but the lights keep coming on? This stared the week of finals so I just unplugged the fuse for now.
I did some reading and there is some kind of relay ? that may be the cause but I cannot find out much about it anyone?
2) Today in-rout to work the charging system stopped working for an few seconds (reminder went NUTZ) switched over to the charging system display and sure enough only 11.8 volts. Raised the engine to 2500 RPM (in neutral) and the charging system seem to have returned to its normal 14.2 volts for the rest of the day. Anyone see this before ? Sounds like the Alt is on its way out.
One more thing there is a knock noise when making parking lot speed turns at times sounds like it may be in the sterring coupler maybe ? I know there is a TSB for this just wondering if there is a low cost repair someone may-know of?
