I went with just a short ram intake... less risk of water getting in, although i'm pretty sure a fine mist might penetrate
Also, you said stock rubber pipe... you don't mean the flexible stuff do you? If you post some pics it may help
The rubber flex intake elbow that the maf sensor is mounted in, well I cut that at that first rib closest to my intake so a 4" pipe would fit tight... Might sound redneck but it fit great, I didn't have to worry about making a new mount for the maf, and it actually looks good... I'll take some pics tomorrow.
