thats big pimp style right thur
I didnt say it was the best way to go a said it was cheap and not what i would do
no, i knew you weren't suggesting that. i was letting OP know that its not a very great setup
A fenderwell intake that does not make any drastic turns is your best route. If you buy a fenderwell intake that makes a 90º or so turn so the filter sits at the bottom of the fender....well you might as well have kept it stock.
Nothing wrong with the filter being half in the fender and half in the engine compartment too. Although people will argue with me on this, the difference in IAT's is minimal.
you can put the iat sensor where ever you want. doesnt even have to be mounted in the intake. its best to put it in a cold location.
IAT's dont matter on these cars!?!?!?! I'd have to disagree with you. IAT's make a noticeable difference when you are non-iced. That being said, the location of the IAT sensor does matter, it is positioned where it is for a reason. Tricking it by putting it in a colder position is not adviseable.
come on, guy. you think i dont know how the car reacts to warm or cold temperatures? my car was a monster when it was about 45* outside, but felt like a dog at 80*. however, i think the IAT sensor is useless and is much better when replaced with a happy knob. timing changes on the fly rock.
you can used an intake that will go for lower IATs, but what for? the blow characteristics of the blower just scream that you should have an open cone once you go intercooled. hell, i ran an open cone and i wasnt intercooled!
Your 2nd question is the answer to you 2nd question. You don't notice any difference between the FWI and open cone when your car is modded like mine, EXCEPT for in-town stop and go traffic. You might notice the car get a little sluggish after your underhood temps get really high. I ran both types and stayed with the FWI. It's more consistent on my car. I don't need the flow of the open cone. Intercooler trumps the FWI anyday for cool intake temps. If you have a FSIC, it will cool the AITs of the open cone without a hitch.
ok thats cool. i tried searching for an intercooler setup for a supercharged GP and couldn't find good pics for it or at least pics that show where the pipes are connected from the IC leading to where ever there located. i just want to get an idea of how it looks and is setup on our cars. alls i could find were good turbo intercooled setups could someone point me to a link plz
find the ZZP stage 2. it is a set of plates with a heater core that goes in between the blower and the lower intake. then you have to pipe out coolant lines to a heat exchanger on the front of the car.
