The threads I have read through out the forums is that the stock fog lamp housing melted because the HID bulb was longer than the halogen bulb and would touch the lens.

I have the 8000k hid fog lights and they are starting to melt. They went from bright blue to a green tint cause they are stating to melt. If I only turn them on when i am driving they are ok. But if I have them on and just sitting after about ten min they get really hot. what are the best replacement foglight housing to buy where you can still ise your 880 bulbs?

Blazer brand projector fogs with the clear lens (blue coating filters out blue light) will look small in fog light opening, but they have great output and a sharp cutoff for a fog light, and use the 800 series bulb.

Pilots fit a bit better I think. I believe the blazers with 3.5", I know my Pilots are 4". I just about ran the blazers before I found the pilots.

You can get them at walmart or pep boys for about $30 to $40. The one's I have used in the past have a blue lens.

The part number for the pilots is NV-602W

Other people have use the autopia fogs that can be found on ebay.

Would this solution work for the 2004 models as well?
