I have a 2006 grand prix, and recently the low oil message came up on the DIC screen. I had it checked, and the oil was low, so oil was added, but the message keeps coming on, and I can't seem to get it to stay off. Any suggestions? I hit the arrow when I start the car to get it to go off of the screen, but it comes up every time I start the car. According to the owners manual the message should only continue to come up if the issue hasn't been resolved and it has been. I didn't change the oil, so I don't want to reset the oil life monitor, I just want to get rid of the low oil message every time I start my car. Any ideas? They would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

If it were me, I would just go ahead and change the oil that way you could reset the oil life sensor. Which by the way, please don't follow that. I just changed mine after 3k miles and it still said i had 41% left

    Yes do what zr1vette90 suggests.

I hate to say it but if your oil was low, you may have other issues. When those lights come on, the oil level is pretty low.

Change out the oil, reset the monitor and then check the oil weekly to keep an eye on it. You do not want to run it out, or you will be buying a new car.

Check the oil when the engine is cold, or before you drive it to get the most correct reading.
