Hi guys, hope you all can give a hand here...

I have a 97 GTP with the Head Up Display. I was thinking about to change the factory radio for an aftermarket one, but I am concerned if with the new one I can still read the info from the radio on the HUD.

Is there an adapter for that, like for example the one you use to keep using the steering wheel controls???

or the track #/radio station will be gone if I replace the radio?

I don't think there is an adapter. You should know what you are listening to anyways.

when a buddy of mine installed a new head unit on his Grand Prix, there was a wire he tapped into (not sure which one) but he tapped into one and it shows the radio station in the heads up display. so it is possible. i'll check into it tomorrow and let you know what wire it is

For most, read not ALL, aftermarket head units, there is a adapter you can get(its part of the wiring) to have it still use the steering wheel controls, and have it show up on the HUD. From personal experience at a car shop, the major brands such as Alpine ect have models compatible for the HUD displays.
However if you had the Typhoon system in your car it can get hairy if done yourself, or expensive if done at a shop.

For clarification, by car shop i mean a place that did custom car work. Didn't work there long since school got in the way of my hours, so some of the newer HU's may not work, i am not sure.

BTW... do you have issues with your volume on your steering wheel controls being way too sensitive? on my 97 gtp its really sensitive.

    Subscribed. I'm intrigued.

    I didn't think such a module existed.
