URLOSN and MattM's turbo placements are very cool/unique. Both cars are highly innovative in their own way.
As far as running a regular cradle, MattM's GP (down to 9.01 before that new chassis/header design), ScottC's 9.49 GP, Zoom's 9.98 GP, and JeffK's 10.00 Impala were all using factory chassis layouts to that point, with varying levels of weight reduction & race prep suited for their 1/4 ET requirements. Without the wheelie bar and suspension limiting (necessary for their 60fts), they'd all be fun to drive on the street. Matt even drove his to the Norwalk hotel after running the 9.01.
If proper care is taken, as the two guys pictured above do, either by filtering or running closed-course only, then it's definitely an option to fab a setup like that.
Personally, I'd be more inclined to place it like the blue Intense GP had it, behind the front plate opening with a screen for filtering. I'm a fan of symmetry, and I'm sure URLOSN can attest to the spacial restrictions dealing with the body & such near the foglight.
In any respect, all cars mentioned are/were awesome, so we'll leave it at that & hope some more cool projects come of these discussions in the future.
