My view of the octane debate used to be run what the owners manual said, my 01 4 cylinder ford ranger had no performance improvement with 93 octane over 87 and the mileage remained at 25 mpg.
Though Bio had me thinking and put 93 octane in my bone stock GT this week and my mileage went from 18 to 21 mpg with my usual city driving. Since I don't have a scanner I can't test myself but when (low rpms?) and why does a stock L36 knock? Is it the compression of these motors compared to others?
