Has anyone had problems with the EGR valve? my car started to jerk a little bit when idle/park, like if it was going out of gas and check engine light came on, so I went to autozone and the code was P1406 valve problem

    Troubleshooting P1406
    OEM Brand: General Motors

    Definition
    EGR valve pintle position circuit
    Explanation
EGR pintle position was 10% of the expected position
    Probable cause
    Failed EGR valve
    Open or short circuit condition

My car is fine now, the check engine light went off.... but I know something is wrong and that part cost more than 150! it sucks now that I'm really broke

Take it off and have the code deleted with a tuner.

Take it off and buy some spray cleaner. I used throttle body cleaner. It is worth a clean and possibly you can free it up. Otherwise it would have to be replaced.

Every thing is back to normal now, it only gave me that problem one day, the next day I started it up, kinda wanted to cut off for few seconds but after that everything is fine, no more check engine light, it went off by itself..... So for now I'm not doing anything to it, hope this problem won't happen again (but I know it might) What do you guys think happened?

My guess would be it is staying open. EGR valves normally close at idle, and a car will idle for crap if it is open at idle.

I would clean it, because it is a time bomb atm.
