you can pull the fuse for it, but then you wont have the alarm at all..

On my 99, the shock sensor is under the steering column. You must remove the plastic panel that covers the column first. You also cannot see it at first, and must next remove the metal knee bolster panel, or stick your head back there by the pedals and look for it to see it.

Sensitivity is set from GM at the factory, but my guess is it has fallen off its mounting and not upright. You can adjust the sensitivity once you get to it if you want that is with the set screw. It is a small black plastic box.

I discovered mine while doing something else but noticed I think the way it came from GM was with double sided tape holding it on. Naturally as the tape ages, it falls off. Mine was duct taped in place, I used velcro to hold it better. The proper placement is connector pointed towards the floor.

There is a GP at my work with this same problem. One day on a brake I went out to my car and started it up and it set the alarm off on the GP next to me. I lol and rev'd the engine and it would do it again.

As a GM service consultant for the past 15 years, the most common issue with random alarms is a door sensor is dirty or defective and the alarm "thinks" an intrusion has taken place. You can disconnect and tape the wires on each door sensor, trunk sensor, hood sensor and etc, one at a time to eliminate the culprit. Once you get to a sensor and the issue stops, there you go! I'd say 8 out of 10 have this as the issue.

I am having the same problem with mine and I have to let it sit at the airport for a week. Where are the sensors for the doors and trunk located? I am going to disarm it this week with the programming function but I would like to fix it properly so any help would be greatly appreciated also where can I buy a new shock sensor in the event that mine is bad?

If you don't care about having the factory alarm, read the owners manual and you can change the settings on it. I was having the same problem on my last GP with the alarm going off in the middle of the night. I looked up in the manual how to turn off the entry detection settings and turned it off. No more waking up in the middle of the night after that.

I've had the same problem with mine. I think I'll just remove the fuse. I don't really care about the alarm, mine is a 1999 so there are much newer cars thieves can steal LOL.

Mine kept going off for no reason too, just 3 beeps and today it went off till I stopped/heard it. Have the owners manual and reprogrammed the theft ALL/OFF hope that will stop the horn and lights from going off whenever it wants. But now I can be robbed ..... smh

Did you perform the above suggestions?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

My owners manual tells you how to program your options for all kinds of combinations and I chose All Off for the theft sensor , so far so good .
