    Hi Everyone,

I have a 98 Grand Prix that has the dual air controls for driver and passanger. For whatever reason, the passanger side will only blow hot air, the speed of the fan doesnt matter, it doesnt matter if you are running the dual or just running the same temp as the driver, the result is the same, only hot air is being pushed out the driver side. We just recently replaced the blower motor on the passanger side as well. Any ideas what would cause somehting like this?

I have the same issue on my passanger side and am fixing it now. The issue is the actuator, basically a motor with gears, that moves the temperature blend door to create hot, warm, or cool air is not working and must be replaced.

The part is not cheap if you buy new, I found $112 on ebay. It is easy to get to, just remove the glove box, for the passenger side. If it is your driver's side, it is a little more buried but still can be accessed.

You stated passenger side blows warm, then driver's side blows warm in your post, so I am not certain which side has the issue.

My appologies for the confusion, its the passanger side that blows warm always, the drivers side is perfectly fine. I assume there is only one of these actuators in the grand prix's? Would you happen to have a link to the one you found on ebay, just so I can make sure that I am getting the right part (if you dont mind sharing that is?

    Thanks for the quick response!

    Hey, not a problem!

Here is the link to the part. As far as I know, there are only two of these actuators on board: one for the driver, left side and one for the pass, right side. So whatever side is not working, that is the side you need, thus the passenger side like me.

Do a quick check before you buy a part. Unplug yours and remove it (held in with screws). Turn the car on, heat on, and turn the shaft end by hand, moving it up and down like the actuator would, will then give you the heated, or cold air.
