Oh, happy, happy, joy, joy.
Broken wires in the drivers side door due to window chafing or constant flexing in the door pivot boot.
Pull the door panel off the Drivers side and get at the wiring harness. I would check the wires that go up to the door lock mech first. Could be broken wires or a loose connector, but I would look around and see if the window movement has chafed insulation off, causing a short/break. If that looks alright, I would sigh deeply, curse a little, and pull whole door harness into door thru the rubber boot at the door pivot. There is plug(s) under the kick panel. It's common on any car for the large bundle of wires inside that boot to start breaking after being flexed for a decade or so. Sounds stupid to say, but it doesn't have to be a Shorted wire. A broken one will cause it too.
My '94 Camry used to Lock, Unlock itself a few times, then roll it's windows down. Not fun in the middle of winter :-P.
