In the lower right hand corner of my DIC instead of the temperature I see the letters OC. (I assume that means open circuit????)
I was thinking it was the exterior temperature sensor, and since it was cheap and easy to get to I replaced that. No change. The DIC still reads OC. What other things can I check?

    Thanks.

I have no idea. If you have access to another DIC you could plug the wiring into it and see what it says, that way you have eliminated the DIC as your problem(although I doubt that is the problem, you would know for sure....) If it is an open circuit the wiring most likely has been cut or disconnected somehow......no way to tell though for sure without troubleshooting the wire itself. Follow it and see if you can visually see anything wrong with it.

I do not have access to another DIC unfortunately. However, all the other functions of the DIC seem to be working fine. I see no other problems there.
I was wondering if there were any other inputs or sensors that talk to the DIC in regards to reading temperature?

Check all your fuses, it could be that simple. You may try to reset everything by unhooking the battery for a while. As far as what all communicates with what. When I got the remote programmed on my 2007 GT, I got to watch the tech work on it. He showed me 12 different computers talking to each other.

I have actually checked the fuses as well.
Except for the HUD (which has a broken spring) and the sunroof sticking sometimes, everything is working on the car.
I was wondering if there was another piece, like an internal sensor or something that played a part as well. With 12 computers (maybe less on an 04...) talking there's no telling.

if OC does mean open circuit it could mean any part of the wiring could be faulty or any of the computers involved could be bad as well.... as far as checking for it, I hate to say it, but the stealership might be able to run diagnostic on your wiring the fastest unless you know of someone pretty good with wiring/computers on vehicles. Keep us posted.

temp sensor on the right side of core support, replace it, about ten bucks from stealership. start there before you start tracing wires

    Just to close this one,
I had the car in the dealership to fix a different issue and had them take a look at this issue. Turned out to be a frayed wire waaaay up under the dash.
$225 labor to fix but now it is working.
