Cheaper and better. I have the zzp ones tho and no complaints.
Our wires have surpass the ZZP wires in every way. We use high quality silicone boots with dual crimp terminals. Our wires also offer unbeatable RFI suppression.
That paired with MSD Pro Race Boots have made these wires the best you can get.
I have to respectfully disagree here. If your wires are essentially the same as the 10.4mm wires sold at 3800performance using taylor spiro pro wire and MSD boots then the set that I had started to cause ticking interference in the radio after about 15k miles. I don't doubt the wire is an excellent performance alternative to stock, just providing my feedback. No pun intended.
Really? I have heard of othe issues causing a ticking sound in the radio (Such as RCA cables for an amp ect)
Did you remove the wires and the ticking sound went away? If so and it has not been to long after the milage you stated then I would definetly call 3800Pro up and see about them sending you another set. This a first of anything happening like this to my knowledge.
I'm not sure how these would cause something like this to happen and the stock wires would not.
Intresting none the less.
I agree to a certian point. Plug wires are not going to give you any kind of horsepower gain. But they are not ment to. They are ment to be an improvement over stock and that's what they are.
There are dramatic differences between different types of wire. Ever try hooking up that 1500 watt amp with wire the size of a tooth pick? Did not work to well now did it?
If your looking to upgrade your plug wires or you need new ones for some reason or another why not get the best?
But if someone was asking me what to do to their car to get more horsepower out of it plug wires would not be on the top of the list by any means.
Yup. Ill run fine on my stockers so long as there in good shape. Take your money and buy something useful.
It certainly can happen with stock wires, too. I have RFI from my current Delco wires. Taylor 409 are good wires, but "unbeatable" is a very strong statement, especially with a Magnecor group buy still going on.
Aftermarket stereo?
I've have a aftermarket stereo and aftermarket plug wires and I've never had that issue. And I don't have it set on granny volume either so I'd know if it was crackling or not.
I just use stock replacement lifetime wires from OReillys... Borg/Warner brand and replace them every other year or so free of charge. Best $40 investment i've made. I like having fresh wires time to time.
I had MSD 8.5 mm wires back in 2002, they didn't last 9 months without completely crapping out and miss firing. Had them properly protected and separted too. Biggest waste of $80 i've ever spent...
^^^ Was about to say that. I love lifetime replacement.
The reason why they are more powerful wires is they have less resistance. Less resistance equals more RFI. It only makes sense.
I have PRJ's wires (which TDC's are either made by PRJ or copies made with the same materials). I also have an aftermarket radio. No ticking or interference, nor any reported by any other PRJ users on NAIOA.
The thing about the 409s is that they use a carbon conductor sheath over their spiral wound core. Carbon conductors work fine for conduction and work well for suppression, but they wear out. Once they do, you're going to end up with the spiral wound conductor that's not suppressed as well. For those asking about aftermarket stereos, that's immaterial. When the wires emit RFI and EMI, they interfere with all of the electronics in the car. Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it's not causing problems with all of the other electronic systems controlling the engine. Suppression is one of the more properties of spark plug wires, with measured DC resistance way down toward the bottom of the list.
