gonna have a 3.4 and tune with in a week or two finally next will be rockers....

should i go 1.9 modified, 1.84 yella terra rollers? maybe 1.95?

will i see a significant diff between them ?

id rather do modified as it is cheaper...but if rollers are much better ill wait and save....dont want a cam so dont say cam it....i wanna go 12's ron vogel style on a stock cam plus rollers are a DIY for me....i have the knowledge to do the cam install but dont wanna deal with all that bullshyt and money...im leaning toward 1.84 RR because i can use stock springs or cheap l76 springs....

If your getting rollers just get 1.90's and #90 Springs (LS6)...IIRC they are cheaper anyway and work just as good. I had 1.84's and loved them...but...I love my cam more

Rollers. they offer more valvetrain stability and offer YOU more power because of the reduced friction that is obtained from them being a ROLLER rocker.

With the ZZP modified rockers the actual RR varies highly. Wich is not good.

ive had no problem with my modified 1.9s. they work well, but if youre looking for an all out rocker build then youre going to want to get rollers. if i were to get rollers i would spare no expense and get the 1.95s.

I saw 1.9 rollers, with a minimum of 90# springs if not 105#..

    I have y/t's 1.9's. I run L76 (g8 gt) valve springs. They're a little cheaper.

Be very careful, the max lift on the L76 springs isn't very high. If you're going anything bigger than a VS or NIC cam, you need to look elsewhere.

I've been running Intense 1.9 Stock/Modified Rockers for many years now and i've put nearly 100,000 miles with them in my car, so far so go. I later upgraded to 105# Springs/Retainers which upgrading the springs is an ABSOLUTE must for ANY 1.9 rocker build roller or modified, stock shift points or not. If you don't believe me do some research on ClubGP about spring failures with rockers. I was one of those guys, though I was lucky and cought it in time before potentially dropping a valve.

I plan on running my setup for the rest of my motors life, its got 170,000 miles on it, its too late to do a cam in it now.

Back in the day when I did rockers all that was availible was stock/modifed. Nowadays if I were to do a rocker build again i'd go with Yella Terra 1.95s Rollers honestly. But theres nothing wrong with stock/modified rockers either as you can see.....

I'm thinking about getting the 1.95 YTs for my top swap build. Are there any reasons not to go with the 1.95s? I've already got L76 springs and LSx retainers.

as long as you do not want a cam in the future then there is no reason at all. For a rockerd car they will be your best bet.

It's a GM spring, that's cheap and readily available at dealerships from what I've heard on the street.

Another low cost choice is looking to ebay for LS6 springs. Usually there is a set or two going very cheap. Only thing there is you shouldn't use them on a 96 or 97 head because of the shape.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
