Got my 12" JLs(2) w/1000watt Power Acoustic amp installed and now there's a horrible rattle in the trunk area. Anyone have this problem and solve it?

Well that's what 1000 watts does to the trunk of any car! You can make sure all the bolts are tight, make sure the spoiler is still secure, check the spare tire compartment, etc. Or you can Dynamat it.

yeah when you are running a decent amount of power to a trunk... you ARE going to have rattle most of the time. if i were you, id buy a roll of sound deadening material (dynamat, RAAM mat, second skin). do your whole trunk and a few layers on the trunk lid. that will help and also add some weight to it.

i wouldn't worry about it TOO much. you shouldn't be concerned about what it sounds like on the outside. the inside is what really counts.

I had 6000 watts, 2000 RMS in the trunk with almost zero rattle. But then again I am very OCD sometimes. I stripped everything out of the whole car short of the dash. then I filled all of the cavities in, under, and around the car with expansion foam. There are a lot of them around the trunk. Then I removed the rubber flaps out of the vent in the bottom of the trunk, got rid of the spare tire and coated the entire floor from the dash to the trunk with sound deadening spray. I also put sound mat and four bolts in the license plate. Extra sound material over the sheet metal where the tail lights are took care ov the last few rattles. But like I said I'm OCD sometimes.

Actually not too bad. The last time I weighed it I had a little over half a tank and it came in at 3,842. I have been able to shave some weight here and there.

Get rid of subs they are stupid. Bigger the stereo the slower you go. Then you won't have an annoying rattle AND you'll go faster.
