I think I will try using the small one that you found since its all I've got. Its the HUD control signal wires so I could probably use a small gauge wire and be OK.

I like doing things the right way even if it is a a little more work. If the tabs I find don't work out, I'll probably go with just finding some other 5 or 6 pin connector and use that instead.

can you post up the connector diagram you've got?

i suppose there's a first for everything, but i have NEVER seen a tyco connector in a gm car....
