Oh boy I could get some harrassment for this one but I need to know how I can tell if the AC is on.

I have a 2000 GP GT and I think the "auto" button turns the fan on high and the AC by default but I am not sure. The little display window does not show a snowflake or some acknowledgment that I just turned the AC on.

So, does anyone know how to turn on/off the AC in a '00 GP GT?

The AC does work but I have to touch all the damn buttons and wait a few seconds the feel the humidity being taken out. This is why the 2002 climate controls should have been designed earlier for the 2000, they are easy to change and you don't have to hit the fan speed button 8 times.

the 2000's don't have an AC indication on the display window, at least mine does not. There's also no button to manually select AC.

    Any more help?

Google doesn't help much but the link to the manual did. I read the AC is on over 38 degrees F automatically and I don't think you can turn it off. The "auto" button, once it's pressed, will adjust the fan speed to reach the manually set temperature faster. Once it reaches that cabin temp, the fan will go down to low until you change the temperature setting again. I've tried this and found once the fan speed automatically goes to low, if I change the temperature setting by one or two degrees, the fan won't go high because it is not needed to reach the couple degree difference.

Of course you can manually adjust the speed if you want but the "auto" is pretty accurate. When I start to get chilly, it will lower the fan speed. I hope I explained what I've learn well enough. Thanks a lot for the .pdf link, it was very helpful.
