Cold Air Intake

Hi Everyone, just bought a 05 gtp and going to put on a cai, question is do I want one that connects to the tb or after the maf? I live in ontario, canada and have to do e-testing.

I'm not sure how you would connect it after the MAF, let alone why.

IF your looking for a cold air intake then you want one that goes into the fender. For the 04+ models your going to need an intake that has a section of tubing both before and after the MAF.

The 04+ have the maf separate from the throttle body. You need a piece going to the maf and one on the other side.

I was not sure what to say when I saw him say that. Or if I understood him correctly. I was thinking to my self why not?

Ok, I suppose you could T off after the MAF? As I said, I just couldn't figure out how you could connect a CAI after the MAF.

Your talking about just connecting a cold air intake after the MAF and have nothing before it?


You would have to put a reducer going from the TB to the MAF (3.75 to 3.25) and then have the piping comming from only the inlet side of the MAF.

The MAF's are the same external design as the LQ4's. So I guess you could put it anywhere in the piping as long as wiring would permit.

I realize it's an external design, again, I just can't figure out how you would connect a CAI after the MAF, which is all I said in my first post.

i guess he means start it after the maf. leave the stock tubing up to the maf then after that start his intake. but he would benifit alot more by starting at the tb.
