    I just ordered some ss autochrome headers. What is a good brand of header bolts. I do not want to use the factory studs.

    Anything that is stainless steel if you want the BEST stuff. I think the Mr Gasket ones are decent. Black oxide is good too.

    Ok I just didn't know if any cheap ones had problems staying tight or what not. Thanks for the info. Now that I think of it are those valve springs I got from you #90 ones right?

    I think it's the 5/16 ones. The 3/8 ones are to big.


    They all have issues comming loose. It's normal. If you do anything to the car you have to also remember to tighten those up. Wash the car...Tighten the header bolts....Change the oil....Tighten the header bolts.


    No but it's really not that bad.

    You can always add some RTV for peace of mind...I use the hell out of that crap and it hasn't let me down yet

    I plan on putting copper rtv on the slip fits.

    why do people think they need new hardware for headers? ive had my stock nuts/bolts on and off a hundred times already.

    It all depends really. I might get new bolts, but I will probably use the stockers because I am cheap. Hence The autochromes.
