yea a downpipe will barley change sound any. if its THAT loud and annoying then there is a leak.

has anyone had the problem of the gmpp sway bar tearin into their cv boots from being too close? not flipped over, i have like 6 inches downpipe clearance.
Well it sure eas leaking, the gasket in the rear wasnt sealed all the way and the resinator managed to get a hole in it somehow yesterday at the same time they put the DP in...how convient huh? Had the stock resinator replaced with a magniflow stainless one, problem fixed. And it does look like the sway bar is hitting the piece of flex pipe on the DP. How much of a pita is it to flip that thing, I just glanced under there and it looks pretty buried.
unbolt it from both sides. wiggle it out one end, flip it over, push it back through and bolt it back up. done. might be a pain to get in and out, but youll be able to do it if you work at it.
Off the wall question what do the 99+GTP's and then the 04+ run bone stock in the quarter? And what does the average 3.4 pully car with supporting mods 97-03 usually end up runnin?
stock is 15.1, mines in the 14.2 range, no tune, l36 bottom w/3.4 pulley stock plugs and headers stock intake
guess thats what i get for no tune and high compresson lol, the mods will come soon enough though, my ported blower is sitting waiting to be installed.
thats what the 1/4 mile times website says, sounds about right.
Well I actually went to the track on friday night and I have all the supporting mods for a 3.4 setup and I pulled a 14.13 at 97. Was a good launch. Prob all it had
with intake and headers on a good day with bad traction i went 14.1 at 98. last time out with intake, headers and 1.8rr in high heat it went 14.2 at 96 with good traction.
my car has 13's in it right now, hell it probably had 13's with intake and headers but only on a good air day (about 50* and good DA)
o and a guy had a stock 2000 ??? gtp when i went back in november when it was in good air. had subs in the truck and was going 14.9-15.0 range all day.
I just got home and checked my timeslip from the drags. A .284 rt, a 2.048 60', and 14.139 quarter at 96.9. But one thing I noticed about drag racin is that to run what ur car can actually run it needs to b just right. Weather, track heat, good grip. Also a good driver. I mean in the afternoon it was almost 90 degrees and I sucked a launch bad and only pulled a 14.95. It all depends. And really I'm not that interested in how my car runs in the quarter. I'm happy with how it runs so that's all that matters. I went into the drag strip thinkin I was gonna run high 13s so there u go
the heat killed you. it killed me last time. its not as bad for N/A cars.
my 60" last time was 2.02. ahhh i almost had a 1.9i was also killin it on the reaction time. nothing slower than .150 and my best was .018 only got tree'd once.
but remember reaction time will not effect your 1/4 mile time. the timer does not start till you take off.
Well, I know for sure I wont be satisfied with 14's I want this thing in the 13's prefferbly mid to low, so I guess it looks like my plan to just do the 3.4 with supporting mods isnt quite gonna cut it.....
Nope prob not. But with all that stuff on it will be a lot more fun. I love messin with people on the street. And really after the 3.4 setup it won't take much to get it into the 13s
