why did you go the cobalt route over this one?

Haha.... man if I told about the past couple of months and what has happened, you would think I was just making up impossible stories. Life has been insanely crazy with many ups and man many MANY downs.
As of right now... my stock is rising and I'd like to keep it that way.
Basically, almost everyone I know was laid off from their jobs. Then, my Fiance's Father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain, Liver, Colon, and Bone Cancer. They removed all the lesions in his brain and around his brain stem (2 of them 3cm x 4cm.... crazy I know!) So he basically is now forced into retirement, and the only one in their family with a steady income. He's a Vietnam Veteran and was heavily exposed to Agent Orange.
We are lucky all our vehicles are paid off, and have minimal debt other than student loans which she has none. I've been making enough to cover everything, and was accepted into the DC Police Academy. I haven't started yet, but should be soon. I can't wait. It's about time I get my career going as a pilot.
The Holidays were awful. Between my Fiance's family and mine, we had 5 deaths, 3 of them on the Thanksgiving Weekend. I lucked out and only family friends of mine were lost, but my Step-Brother's and Sister's Father passed away the day before Thanksgiving, so the holiday will never be the same for them.
As I said, things really seem to start settling down now. I hope they continue to look up from here on.
How's life with you?
That is correct. I WAS in the hospital. I got out of it. Needless to say I had some ethical issues with the way some things were handled at Shady Grove Hospital. During the snowstorms since I had some free time during the week, I basically became a traveling respiratory therapist during them at Suburban Hospital. It was perfect because they had a lot of trouble with staffing their building. It was all volunteer but I just felt like I needed to do something because I had the knowledge.
I believe I told you this before, but my dream has been to be a pilot. I went and got my Commercial License through CCBC in Baltimore flying helicopters. Now I'm getting into Metro Police in an attempt to join up in their flying program. Also, I always wanted to be apart of the military, and asthma has inhibited that. The Police Dept. is the closest I'm going to get I feel.
Flying is a career to me, not a job. The hospital was great because I helped people and felt great doing it, but to fly is my dream, and to get paid for it is just a benefit.
I will live in my parents basement and drive a 1981 Accord for the rest of my life as long as I can fly. Put it that way, haha!
I applied for Baltimore County, twice as a matter if fact! Never received and e-mail or a call. I applied to Park, Alexandria, Montgomery County, MD State, PG, and Metro was the first one to accept me. Park and Alexandria accepted me as well, but afterwards. I still haven't heard anything on MoCo, State, and PG, but I took their tests and passed.
Either way, I really wanted either Metro or State because of the flight programs, but I would've taken the first to accept me out of the whole bunch just to get in, then transfer. I have to do a year to 2 years on the ground before I can fly. They want you to experience the ground so you don't take it for granted what the guys are doing down below while you're in the air.
Trust me, Josh! I felt the same way, and still do! 70-80% of my training was autorotations, so I'm a little less nervous so to say. Either way, the circumstances must be just right for them to work.
As for jet aircraft, one of my friends and I are really looking into purchasing something like a L-39 or MiG-21 in the future. I don't know how interested you would be in a potential triple buy, haha?
It wouldn't be for awhile, nor do we have the proper training for it. I wouldn't mind having a broken down $20k MiG-21 sitting in my hangar...errr, garage, haha.
I've also been looking into purchasing a Mess. BF-109. I don't know if you heard, but they are rolling brand spanking new ones off an original assembly line! A company bought a factory from WW2.
Either way, before I do any of that, I want to get a little more stabilized. Also don't have any kids yet, which could jeopardize a lot of this crazy dream we have.
What aircraft did you fly?
