So...the woman ran a thought by me last night...said that she would get a '04+ GTP in a instant if they only made it a 2 door. So I sat there for a second and decided...well...why the fudge not...RIGHT?! Now I know you all are sitting here looking at the monitor crosseyed calling me any name you can think of but besides finding a good spot to slim down the body it shouldn't be much trouble...besides cutting the car in half...RIGHT?

Just kinda wanted to get this talked about so she (and me) can see what all would be involved...I got a buddy about 5 miles from me that owns a Hot Rod Restoration and Frame-Off Shop and I will be going to him with the works since he knows his ass from a hole in the ground in body work...and lots of it

Shoot me some thoughts...just don't post up here with negative crap

I wish they made the 04+ in 2 door as well. Good luck with that I wanted to try it but I didn't want to regret it if I did it and i thought it would be pricey but I can't wait to see it because a guy photoshopped 1 and it was nice

Try the only one around period and VERY pricey but looks sweet. there is no way you could regret it.

It would be pretty sweet! You could even shorten the wheelbase to give it a bit better handling characteristics.

Well...she graduates school in the spring of this upcoming year...so it'll be awhile...said once she gets out she is gonna go get a cheapy 4 door...GT at least cuz she wants the dual exhaust. Told me she didn't care if it was blown or not (I do...so it will be ) Plans are to strip the paint, get some black Bullitt Wheels, F-Body Brakes, Basic Bolt-Ons, Paint her a metallic black with a red flake, SPO Kit (I think that is what it is), drop it, tint, and a little stereo work...and a BIG weight reduction

Honestly I think I am more excited than she is about it LOL

they dont make an SPO kit. its called the SE kit that consist of the front lower valance and the rear bumber. as far as the SPO goes it is the grills, exhaust tips and the spoiler. the spoiler you can get off a GXP they came stock with the SPO spoiler. on the 04+ break they are already 12 inch rotors in the front. good luck

Why would you need to cut it in half?

that will only make the car worse ,structurally wise.
and if you cut it in half it has to be on the weld line, we used to do this to many GM fwd cars at the body shop. easier to cut em in half and weld em back together as stock but to change to a 2 door, you need to move things not cut it in half.

^^ That is what I really meant the cut in half was just a quick way of saying it...I'm more worried about the doors and such...was sitting in a parking lot lookin a one this morning and the doors on the Cavalier she has are bigger then the front doors on one now...I'm really not sure how it would look with the stock sized front doors *sigh* just something else we are gonna run into I guess...

Just do it nascar style and smooth the sides out and get in the car through the window, half your worries... done. No doors.
