Welcome! X2 about the pvc pipe...if you know how to paint then you can make it look good.

This was mine on my gtp:

For just a plain color it doesnt look bad. Just make sure if you go that route, make sure you the time and prep it right. If you dont it will look like crap. Painting is 90% preping and 10% paint. The paint should last quite some time, depending on the quality of paint you use.

Would you be willing to do a write up or post some suggestions for painting?

Id be happy to.... just give me a week or so to get everything together (with my 2 jobs). Hell i'll go ahead and prep and paint my FWI for the Impala, that way I can take pics through-out the whole preping and painting process. Then ill leave it to Scotty and see if he wants to "Sticky" it or what-not lol. I used to powdercoat paint for a living. Its dirty but man its fun and rewarding when its done right!

Despite what all the nay-sayers who can't afford the K&N are saying, it absolutely rocks. I was not comfortable putting some crappy PVC or plexiglass in a hot engine compartment.
The K&N is an amazingly snug fit, designed very well. It really opens up that supercharger!
    Two things that surprised me:
#1 It fits nicely against the hood of the car, sealing it off from warm engine air.
#2 It is designed to draw directly from the AC unit air since the bottom is open and exposed seemingly only to the AC (touch it and you'll find out it's cold).
The kit is professional, and if you can afford more than some Plumber's PVC junk, then I say go for it.
Don't listen to the haters, I love it, and you won't regret it.
Here's the video that convinced me: YouTube - Grand Prix GTP Whining Supercharger Flyby... among others! It rocks, just get it.

My wife's GTP came with a K&N kit on it when I picked it up. Very interested to see pics of yours. You say it seals right to the hood? Love to see that since the rubber bulb seals on the top jam right under the diagonal brace. Also, you say it draws air directly form the AC? Really? The air conditioner? I need to see this thing because it's obviously not the same K&N kit that I am about to tear out of her car that doesn't seal off to anything, let alone the AC.
