I've got a full custom 3" exhaust with no cat, two resonators (brand unknown), and flo-pro mufflers. It's sounds pretty close to running straight pipes. It's a freakin mean exhaust system but when you got a chick in the car saying, "OMG my entire body is vibrating" (and not in spots she'd be happy about unfortunately), it's gotta go. ***** vs a mean exhaust? I think that's a no brainer for most of us haha.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a quiet performance exhaust system that doesnt hinder performance?

    Thanks!

a cat and some Borla mufflers. At least Borla Mufflers and some resonator tips.

I'm thinking about buying from this place, they sell them cheaper on ebay.

doesnt a stock muffler defeat the purpose of having a 3" exhaust?

stock mufflers and a good glasspack in front of it are the only way youre ever going to get this car to be quiet and sound "okay".

and what's the purpose of having a 3" exhaust? do you have a turbo? if not, there is no reason to run anything over 2.5"...ever.

will at overkill suggested that I get a 3" cat back for my mods to go with his pcm. Is this unnecessary?

Unless your trying to keep the exhaust 3 in through-out or your high boost (ie turbo), then 3 in is useless. Plus are you going with a high flow cat? If not I'd go with 2.5 in. The 2.5 will bolt right up to the flange on the cat. Some manufactuers have a modded flange to bolt a 3 in catback to the cat, but they normally charge an addti. $20 or more just for the bigger flange.

there is no gain with it on a supercharged car. it is just straight up too big, thus making it louder for absolutely no reason.

now on a turbo car, where backpressure is useless and an open downpipe will be the fastest youll ever get, there is a point to have a big huge exhaust with no restrictions.

I got 3" exhaust it ain't hurting in anyway. I have more problems getting traction off the line with my small setup than anyway at all. That was before and after the 3000 stall + 3.29 gears. Its worse now of course.

My exhaust is decently quiet I think. I'm running TOGs, 3" Exh (no cat, no res), 2.25" Y-pipe, stock mufflers, FT Tips. I have 0 drone at any speeds. Its not mouse quiet, but its quiet enough to make people not suspect anything.

I am totally satisfied with the overkill pcm. I only drove it once for about 2 hours after installing it. What a difference! The only thing that I'm not sure about is that my cruise control deactivates after about 1 min of driving. Not sure if the pcm is still adapting to the car or if it might be a prob? anyone had this problem before?

I'm gonna stick with the 3" exhaust but put the stock mufflers on until they rust out (i'll give em 8 months tops)
