tune, stat. the tune is the key in EVERY setup. get a vendor PCM for now, but later on in your modding your going to need a more custom tune to get the most of your mods.

it is normal under accel and let off...it happens. Get a tune, and it should alleviate your problems....

I dont know about the backfire thing man. I didnt have any backfires after I did my downpipe. I have a high flow cat though. You might have a bit of an exhaust leak at the manifold connection.

What type of a "backfire" are we talking here???? Is it an obvious miss on a cylinder?? Your engine retards the timing when you let off the gas, you might be hearing that.

Also, you need an aftermarket PCM. I hear Overkill performance makes good ones. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Intense for PCM's

i would def at least get a plog and reweld and grind out the rear manifold. it will help tremedously. headers are best but me and wife are in school w/2 teenagers. i did a ceramic plog, worked the rear mani, then wrapped a crossover and rear mani,,,later bought the zzp 3" n/cat, n/resonator and i'm done with the exhaust

1 day i'll buy headers.....maybe obama will buy them 4 me.........my opinion is if u r buying ( at the same time) a dp and a plog u'll spend the same on ebay headers.

How much does wrapping the cross over and plog help? What works best, and are there any specific procedures for doing this?

ZZP says not to wrap the plog. I've seen them develop cracks from it.

no do not wrap plog, i got mine coated.....i only wrapped crossover and rear. u can get thr 2"wide wrap from advance auto or autozone. folow directions and use the paint it recommends. if it rust out 2 yrs from now, who cares? my coated front plog is sweet for the $. but remember if u r doing a d/p and a plog, + your wrap...headers from ebay would be my personal choice....

Isn't really any need to wrap stainless. It doesn't really radiate heat. I know they're fairly tough since mine once got so hot it was glowing, but I still wouldn't want to chance it.

I don't know about you, but at 85MPH my RPMs are barely over 2000. Plus you've got all that air moving through there...
