Hey everyone, My car is running great but today about 4 random times I heard the *Dinging* sound (as if your door was open) and it would ding about 3 times. it did it randomly throughout the day. All doors are closed, trunk closed and hood closed... any Ideas??

    Thanks

Freezing rain + trunk did it to me.

Trunk was closed, but I opened it and brushed all the ice and stuff off and closed it again and it was fine. It beeped at me for a few days and finally one time i caught that the trunk signal flashed on the DIC. It was never flashing all the time, just that instance.

Sounds like you may have a door/trunk ajar switch on the fritz. Check your driver's door and the trunk. Those are the two most common places for these switches to fail in a car.

These cars also alert you when they're low on fuel (mine used to...). There's also a possibility that the fuel level sending unit is shorting out and temporarily showing low fuel, thus causing the "dinger" to go off.

Somehow my trunk kept getting opened. It beeped when i went over bumps and I was like ?? Cupple days later I noticed the truck was opened. You could barley tell though. It is still happening....I'm not sure if it's me accidently pressing the button on the remote or what....

Maybe that'sthe problem with mine then. On my roomates transam it makes you hit the trunk button 2 times real quick in order for it to open. On his key pad the trunk button has 2X on it indicating you have to do so.

I guess if mine had this I would not have this problem.

I was going to reply that Ive had this issue before and what TDC posted was my problem. the DIC only will report that something is open if its opened enough to actually release the switch that indicates so.

Ive done as TDC and not closed my trunk well enough or popped it open and forgot that I had done so and would get the ding sound only when I went over a bump that was sufficient enough to cause the trunk lid to open up enough and loose contact with the indicator switch that triggers the DIC and the audible indicator.
