Does anyone have any tips on getting the Rollmaster crank gear to slide on smooth. As it is now I would have to pound it on with a hammer.

You may need to take Emory cloth and clean out the keyway. You may also have some rust on the crank keeping it from going on.

It's tight before it even gets to the key way.

Ok then like GTPP said just use some Emory cloth on the rollmaster gear at the key way?

They are "TIGHT", and light taps with a hammer isn't unusal. Just make sure you're al aligned properly, lol, or you'll have to get it off and do it again!

Proper deburring and cleaning and a good polish of the crank too. Then if it needs tapped on a quick way to warm them up is if you have a halogen work lamp or a on top of the stove, little oil and make sure your going on right way. also if you look around for some spray duster tip bottle upside down. You can spray liquid inside bolt hole to cool it down, That and the warm sprocket should slide on with little effort.
    Good Luck

As Monza said warming up the sprocket will help it slide on. We use a bearing warmer at work. It heats the bearing up allowing it to fall onto the shoulder on the motor's rotor. 9 chances out of 10, as long as we let it get to its proper temp we don't have to use a hammer and bearing driver.
