so I installed fuel pump and hotwire kit today and I'm having an issue I have read about several times

the car will fire up run fine and than sputter out after about 3 seconds

    8. Locate the Fuel Pump Resistor (on inner fenderwell behind battery on GT/GTP and behind headlight
on Regal GS) and disconnect connector. Attach jumper connector included in the kit.

this is the step I think im having issues with I had just unplugged the harness located directly behind the battery

wondering if the resistor I need to disconnect is located elsewhere or in the fuse box

so out of curiosity I plugged the harness directly behind the battery on the fenderwall back in and the car is running fine.....
can anybody tell me what exactly the fuel pump resistor does cause it seems like car won't run without it

is it possible my ground on the hotwire kit is bad and the fuel pump resistor connection is keeping it grounded out?
    allowing it to run
