2008 GP tossed this code last night on the way home from work.

    Everything seems to be working.

    Cleared it and will monitor.

    Anyone ever have that code?

Threw this code again yesterday (U1153) along with a P0128 engine coolant temp below the thermostats required temp. 170K. Radiator has been flushed and filled at least twice in its life. Once by me this summer. Original stat though. So going toss a new stat in and clear codes and see if that helps the P0128. ECT gives me a reading was 188 after a 60 mile drive to work this am. On a tech 2. Gauge sits just above the 1/4 hash most of the time. The U code is puzzling. Maybe a random ground short somewhere.

Put in the new 195 degree stat on sat and now the car heats up faster and the gauge rides higher. Midway between the 1/4 and 1/2 way. I know the gauges are not accurate but it is definitely consistently higher. Guessing they thermostat was getting weak and opening to quickly and often. Also hoping the U code is somehow connected and stays away as well. I know it was there 2 times with the P0128 and maybe all 3 just not 100 % sure on the first time.

After a week of driving about 900 miles. Codes have not reappeared so calling this fixed.

I'll throw my 2 cents in and say that at work I generally ignore comm. codes unless they're related to a current fault or DTC.

Many times communication codes are thrown due to the data line's bandwidth being used to max capacity for a split second. Whatever control unit attempted to use the line at that time won't be able to transmit it's data and in turn will throw a communication code.
For thine is the Cam, The Piston, and The Rod, Forever and ever (or until they break). Amen.

Ill buy that. Pretty sensitive p0128 code though. Guess that's good for faster heat now that winter is coming
