this question has been asked waaayyy too much, but I couldn't find a straight answer after going through 6 threads on the subject.

Looking at used ZZP mufflers, my stock ones are rattling inside. lol

Anybody ran them before? or heard up close how they sound? I know these engines sound like crap when they aren't quiet, and very few exhausts actually sound somewhat decent, one of them being stock, but mine sounds like crap while still being stock.

I know I'm going to make it sound less bad with a big cam, and I might just run a res and stright pipe it back after getting that lopey idle going.

btw, I'm also replacing the res with a 30" glasspack I got for cheap local. not ideal, but eh.

    My $.2

I heard the Zzp catback from a local that had one on his car at one point in time.. Sounded horrible was just way to much for a 3800. He eventually just kept the piping and replaced those junk mufflers I think with some magnaflows or something sounded way better not gawdy like Zzp/flowmasters etc. both times had a resonator on to.

If your just wanting some inexpensive mufflers check out thrush I know most of the parts store here carry those locally. Yea they're not aluminum so that may be a problem for you down the line but something to consider.

Inexpensive mufflers? That sounds like crap and will need to be changed out in a few years?

Just get a couple of Borla #40357 and be done with it.

I do believe Magnaflow and Borla sound the best on the cars.

I actually run the GM Performance Parts exhaust on my car, and it's made by Magnaflow. Runs 2 Magnaflow mufflers and an 18" resonator.

Borla. I bought it because I Magnaflow and Corsa systems cost more. I'd buy just the Borla mufflers again.

Aren't OEM replacements walker mufflers? I would just go with that since these cars have nothing to gain from louder exhaust.

I have the ZZP mufflers on mine. The drone is horrible
I was wondering what the difference is from running just one muffler
instead of two would Be for our cars. Been thinking about throwing on
new muffler to get rid of the drone

Do you have a resonator? Without it the drone is brutal.

Good to know. I had no resonator and put on the Borla's; drone city. Put a stock resonator back on and no more drone.

well that is a very clear answer. lol I'm definitely going with borla, might replace the full exhaust if it's rusted through in enough places lol

I know my res has been ready to go for a while, it's got quite a few soft spots on the outside, no idea how much rust is inside it. That might be what's making the rattling in the mufflers, now that i think about it...maybe something just fell off inside and traveled all the way back. I'll cut stuff apart when I get back, see what's up.
