Okay, today it was pretty damn hot here in Texas(no surprise), I've been having to drive into Arlington on their horrible roads for the last few days and just out of the blue a nice massive stress crack formed on the drivers side windshield today.
My thinking is that coupled with the heat and sudden cooling from the ac it began to build up stress, and the final straw wasn't a sudden jolt but instead a fast turn into traffic. My question to y'all is if there is any way the car could have actually exerted enough force on the windshield to crack it? Would some front strut tower bars have prevented this?

Figured out what caused it, don't spray your windshield washing fluid on super hot days, especially if you just bought it and its room temp.
I'm going to be out 300 dollars.

I had that happen here in Houston about 10 years ago. We had a little rain while it was right at 100° a few drops hit the windshield just as I was getting my El Camino and bam crack.
An engine is an engine no matter the size.... I think Dr. Seuss said that... or maybe it was Big Weld....
