So I know the easiest way to install the scangauge is with an add-a-circuit, but say I don't mind splicing wires, would there be a good wire to tap near the A-pillar?

use an add a circuit and tap it into the fuse block next to the glove box. when I did it, I used a wire that had multiple strands, so when I added more gauges I already had power run to that area.

Find "ignition hot" in the ignition harness. Easier to go to the fuse box though.

    Red or pink?

I know the add-a-circuit is the easiest way, but I'm looking for a 'factory-clean' install and would rather not have wires cluttering up the fusebox.
Most say to use the window fuse with that install, couldn't I tap the same circuit near the driver's door, or maybe splice into the gauge harness? Just looking for alternatives to the add-a-circuit.

Do you have a 97-03 grand prix if so there's a unused plug under the glove box you can buy zzp's drop down harness that plugs right into it worked great for me. It's running to its own fuse to safest easiet way to do it. There's 3 wires on the plug ground, constant hot, and accessory hot which is the one I hooked it to so it turns on and off with the car. You have to pull the little jumper fuse out of the back of the aeroforce to. I just did mine last summer if you need a picture of where the plug is let me know.

It is an '03. A pic would help if you have one.
I also don't plan on ever having a HUD, wouldn't there be a plug there that would work?

I'll go take one you have to open the glove box and squeeze the sides and pull the glove box down passed the stoppers. I don't have hud the plug was tapped to the wire harness.

It's the pink wire that you want to hook it to the plug is like 10 bucks from zzp. I just didn't want to splice into my wire harness you could do it that way to.

Yea no problem it's just a spare plug that runs to the fuse box most cars have them people just don't know about it.

the power drop is so close to the fuse box and a add a fuse is way cheaper.

dont buy that power drop pig tail from zzp if you feel the need, im sure its a 10 dollar ebay thing and zzp marks it up to 20 or 30 i bet.

you could also cut the plug off and solder or make your own plug for mere dollars. you know like a 3 dollar box of male and female plug ends.

Here we go with ScottyDoggs cheapness lol it's literally 10 bucks it cost 15 shipped so you don't have to splice into the wire harness. It's really far up in there it makes it easy to just solder it up outside of the car and plug it in.
