Finally got over to the other JY today, got the bracket, tensioner and idler, but they had like, 4 injectors between 2 cars. and 35 bucks per part? sheesh... they let me have the bolts, gaskets and belt I found for free though... here's some pics. (and some free extra little things)

Brand new gaskets, pulled them out of the package (obviously)

Bolts, but I know I'm either missing some or have the wrong ones... oh well, a trip to Lowes and grade 8 bolts will work. lol

AND...Last but not least... I gots a package today.

    Cat approved.

So I have the Gen V, to Reptile for that, and I'll definitely use it end state, but for this project it's not a player. I'll start working on the Gen III Saturday, pull the rotors out and clean the inlet and outlet of the case in preparation for porting and polishing. And probably prep the outside for paint... still need ideas for a decal on the top. Maybe a pin-up girl with the words "Dirty Sloot"... lol

Finally got around to cleaning the Gen III and the LIM, it's really quite astonishing what a wire wheel can do

still got a few spots to finish up, but it's looking good compared to before...

    Then I begin the cutting

Then I finish the cutting for tonight because it's already past midnight...

I'll clean those edges up tomorrow, and tap those coolant holes for these fancy plugs I bought today... unless I can't find that tap, in which case I'll file down some dimes... lol

You can order the tap from summit and have it in a couple days

Maybe a couple extra days for Alaska

It'll end up being about two weeks and the shipping will be more expensive than the tap... I looked at that, but I'm not going to pay 50 to ship one single small tool that originally cost maybe 15. It makes no sense to me.

There's a few, I'll have to do some research, aka footwork, and see what each shop is like and what they can do... I'm going by home depot later today (lol it's still before noon here) and skim through there for the tap. If that fails, I'll google and call to see where I can find one.

Unrelated note, I found a local trans shop that I hope to hear back from... might be getting a built trans if it all works out.

So... the wife stepped in. She said she wouldn't care if I put the Gen V on, but she wants the "old smelly one" gone. So I will not be putting the Gen III on, even though I really want to make it work, but I will be selling it instead. After porting and polishing, obviously. And painting, depending on who wants it and how they want it. I'm genuinely sad about not finishing this project, but it truly is like the old saying...

    Happy wife, happy life.

And I'll be able to afford more stuff once I sell it!
