Every morning when I start the car, it cranks for a while and seems to barely catch, but once it does it runs great. After that the car starts great every time, just after it sits. Brand new battery and alternator. Any ideas?

I was thinking more along the lines of a bad ICM or something, not ready to torch it just yet lol.

I'd maybe check fuel pressure because the 04+ have the regulator on the pump. If that is part of the problem you'd see a drop off in fuel pressure right away after you prime it but once it's running it really doesn't matter.

And dirty throttle bodies and MAF sensors can contribute to this issues.

next time cycle the kjey on twice before turning it on and cranking so the fuel system builds pressure, the rails may be boiling empty and you crank a while while they fill. my 04 will extended crank if I don't let the pump prime for the full 2 seconds before I turn to the start position

Turned the key on and waited, and tried to start it... It was worse than ever. It almost didn't start, but when it did it was chugging and running like ****. Shut it off, tried again, and it barely even cranked, just fired right up

Cycled it twice this morning and it started up fine. I guess that was the problem after all. I can do this for now obviously, but the permanent fix would be a new fuel pump, right?
