    This is an impossible task!!!
I have a 2002 Grand Prix GTP and I need to replace the blower motor resistor. I took the motor/fan assembly out, and then I unscrewed the 7/32 screw from the connector in front of the resistor only to find that there was another screw behind it the connector! After slicing some sound insulation matting behind the carpet and nearly 2 hours of work, I was able to get the second screw out of a near impossible to reach place. Then I couldn't pull it out and discovered that there was a third screw in an even more difficult to reach location!! I was just wondering if and how anybody else completed this task.

Perhaps I'm unknowingly trying to take apart the wrong part? In the pictures, the perspective is under the glove box and looking up and frontward. The first picture is a close up of the thing I am trying to take off to get to the blower resistor. Is that correct? In the second picture, I have a socket screwdriver wedged back where there is a screw much deeper.
In total, there is one screw in the back (the side closest to the passenger seat) and two seemingly inaccessible screws hidden in the front (the side closest to the engine).
Any advice? I'm almost tempted to just rip out the unit and use the two screws I already got :/

This was the first thing I replaced when I bought my used GTP. Did it in a parking lot in 20* weather.

It's a ***** but can be done. Some people remove the blower motor for easier access.

You should try to do this with a hangover. It's great!
