I've had this issue ever since it started getting cold out, id get in the car after unlocking the doors, and i hear this buzzing sound coming from behind the dash, almost sounds like a motor spinning. It's extremely loud when its cold out, and I cannot locate it. I have several odd noises that I can't pin to one specific source, when you key on you can hear slight buzz from the navi unit and when you key off it goes away. This loud buzzing sound seems to be connected to the HVAC however, when I unplugged the HVAC control assembly the noise disappeared. Blow motor was off at the time, its not that, and no noise comes from the blower when you turn it on either. Anyone ever experience something like this?

I would be getting my hand back there and finding whatever is warm. That's the smell you are talking about. Likely some wire is pinched and causing a relay or something to hold.. which is the buzzing.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

well i took a couple panels off the dash today and went searching, only thing i was able to find, which after finding out that this thing existed, figured this would be the case was the climate control sensor. It apparently took a trip down behind the dash and wound up somewhere next to the radio. I reached up in there and pulled it out and routed it back up to where it was supposed to be, and found that it looked like this... another GM design wonder, this thing has nothing to lock it in place. lol If it falls out again ill have to tape it in there. Fortunately you can see it in the hole. Dunno if this will fix my problem but so far the only buzzing i can hear is a light hum from the navi unit that goes away after you key off. I have a feeling thats gonna wind up being the culprit, sounds like faulty caps buzzing inside.

My 06 has a buzz like that. Can you clarify where to look for that problem?
