My 99 GP GT runs very well with 90k miles but when I have to put the pedal to the floor I notice a burning smell and I can't figure out what it is, but it only happens under heavy acceleration. Any ideas?

Since it's a GT I will assume it's not rubber....

One would guess , that under the hood , it's probably quite dirty. Leaky valve cover gaskets and such , hard acceleration , stuff starts burning off ....

I smelled something burning after i would floor it, and it turned out to be a cat that was beginning to clog up.

Well i bought the car with 90k on it, it now has 93k idk how cats age year wise but I can tell its not the original cat so mileage wise I think that it would be OK.
