I thought I saw this thread a while back but couldn't seem to find it doing a quick search. Is there a general opinion on exhaust that people on the forum like for our cars? I currently have SD headers going to a stock cat and straight pipes but the drone is getting to be obnoxious. Any recommendations for mufflers?

Drone: you need a resonator; stock or cherrybomb type will work.
Muffler: Borla is reported to be the best sounding.

I have Walker cat and resonator, Borla mufflers and Magnaflow tips. Overall I like it. The exhaust note is deep and low. I still get a little drone when climbing long hills, but it is tollerable.

the sound of all the different exhaust systems is subjective. everyone has an opinion, and most opinions are different. your best bet is to put the catback exhaust back to stock and leave it alone. instead of asking for opinions, you can hear the different exhaust systems for yourself by going on youtube.

Sorry, stock resonator is still on there. I have gone on youtube and listened to different exhaust setups but I was looking for peoples opinion if there is one setup that is generally liked more than another setup

Good luck on that one. I didn't realize how loud my car was until my mom drove it down the road..

It was not bad, louder than normal cars.

Whatever you do do NOT get two magnaflow resonators and dump it out the side of the rear door. I need to figure out if I can put a cheap thrush muffler there.

Other than that I have a 3" Exhaust with a Walker muffler on there. It's quiet.

any non turbo 3800 is going to sound like ****. its a fact of life. ZZP Catback/Mufflers with a resonator sounds less ****ty on a S/C Setup.

ZZP Catback/Mufflers with no resonator sounds like sex on a turbo setup.

who cares what peoples opinions are if you find one you like, something like this isn't going to affect performance at all.

I think I am going to build an aluminum exhaust for the 3800 Monte and use the aluminum Vibrant mufflers. Aluminum has different acoustic properties than stainless and I am interested to see if there is any noticeable improvement on these applications.

if building from scratch, go full 3 inch cat back its the only cat back i like the sound of. ive not heard one 3 inch set up pop, backfire, or sound like a wet fart yet.

most muffler swap guys do all sound like crap to me.

shoot me now if you want, but the even the slp cat back sounds horrible to me.
