So I have a 97 gtp that I blew the motor. I put a n/a motor in it and did a top swap. Now my boost meter isn't going all the way up but I seem to have okay power. Is the meter messed up because of the high compression or should I buy a different gadge to actually see if I really am low on boost?

He had to. In 97 there is only one sensor and the NA sensor is included in the UIM.

and..starting in 04, the SC'd motor got two sensors. One for baro and one for LIM pressure.

Yup I noticed that when I was looking for parts that's where I got my last set of sensors from was an 04. The previous years used the larger style of MAP sensor similar to the ones in anything late 80's through the early 2000's
