Car was sitting in the parking lot and someone pulled in too close and smashed the passenger side of the car. Will need a fender, head light housing, head light, and the hood needs to be bent back in shape a bit. Surprisingly the bumper didn't get touched. The turn signal portion part of the light was smashed completely and the frame behind it was bent a bit.

Nothing major, but it'll be over a grand for the parts and to get painted.

The first blood hurts worst. Sucks that happened to you. Hope you get a good repair. Quarters are at the rear of the vehicle, fenders are at the front.

Fixed! Thanks lol. Still gonna be a lot to repair, even though I don't have to pay a dime. I'm glad he didn't try and park somewhere else or leave. He called the cops right away. Thank goodness! I just hope it's not more than $3,000 to repair, cause then I'll just take the insurance money. But I highly doubt it will be that expensive.

I doubt that as well. It is refreshing to catch a glimpse of people acting responsible, you were fortunate.

I know. He either could've done the right thing, call the police (which he did), or leave, commit a hit and run, and be charged with a felony if caught. Made the right decision. I'm looking at buying a GTP in the meantime IN CASE it just so happens to be more than the cars value. Who knows maybe there's a lot of bent framing no one knows about yet... Honestly, I wasn't all that mad when I found out.

was he driving, a truck? Looks like they came in a bit too fast. I would think that if I felt the nose tap someone else's car I would STOP and back up. But, looks to be not too bad. Good luck w/ the ins. co.

He was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not sure what year, but it was an older one.

Today I removed the head light, or whats left of it, and it was shoved pretty good up in there and now it goes in fine. I also bent the fender (with my hands no less) to a better position to where it looks much more decent. I will not be taking it in to get fixed because I did all of this in like 20 minutes. Paying someone to make it look it perfect would just be dumb because if I spent more time on it, which I will, I can do it all myself. All I'd have to pay for is a new head light.

You are speaking my language now! Yeah its usually just a little something needing to be bent back so things can fit again. Whenever you mess with a fender though, be careful first time opening the door. Go slow and make sure it doesn't catch on the fender's back edge.

The whole fender wasn't pushed back at all, just curled under the hood. But after 30-40 minutes of bending and hitting I finally got it in a spot I'm happy with. It's still dented and scratched, but I don't care enough to fix it lol. Dents will stay as there isn't much room behind the fender as it curls at the back leaving maybe an inch of room to work with, but I really need to paint it before it starts rusting. I just need a new head light and I will be set. I will have before and after pics when it's all done.

Cool, and yeah do get something on the bare metal before rust starts. Might as well buy the lamp new, the salvage yard charges brand new money for them. Plus you'll be able to adjust a brand new one.

I bought a new one from RockAuto because the used ones I was looking at were all foggy. Sure I could've paid full price for a used one, like you said, or just pay full price for a new one. $40 to be specific when you include shipping and tax.
