hmm i think you're right.

He is, the vacuum actuator is from the 4T60E. 97+ GTPs and 98+ everything else got the 4T65E. I'm curious what he means by upgraded gear? HD diff maybe? Also, he'd need a 7\8" chain for his 400HP quote and an upgraded IS as well. Have him pull the torque converter and take a picture of the IS, that'll at least shed a little bit of light on his claims. Get pics of the differential too so we can see if it's HD or not.


And a side note...it wasn't going to be the fastest turbo car ever...with a transmission that can only hold 400HP? Just seems like someone that isn't too sure what he's talking about. I did find this though:

yea thats the site he was referring to. the trans is a 4T65e non-hd but he has the HD parts for teh swap. he bought it 5 years ago and shipped his trans down to LA for them to build but he basically just gave it to them and let them do the work, so he doesn't recall the entire build list (which is why he is selling it at the price cause of ppl like me who would be hesitant). since i'm in a crunch i may just have my local trans shop do the overhaul/rebuild with the upgraded v8 chain. i found someone else on the other forum that may need the trans more than me so i may pass it along to him if he's interested.
