Needs retros lol. Blacked out housings and chrome shrouds looks really good on my car.
As I often do...
Last night I drove with the fuel gauge needle was resting solidly on the pin.....and I just kept on driving. (No worries, this pump is solid with 258K on it) Scotty knows more.. that's gravy though.
This morning.. I sped to work as usual. That's where the best fuel mileage occurs.
Drive it to work. Its weird, last week or two, once i start it, then pop it into reverse or drive, it sometimes makes a pop noise from the front end. Motor mounts? Ive done lower control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, sway bar linkage(not the swaybar itself). Did that work on both sides of the front, im going to throw struts on it within a month or two, car doesn't drive funny, drives straight doesnt shimmy at all at any speed, drove it 1000 miles last couple days and just not sure what the pop sound is.
I did the work on it about 7k miles ago, it has 63k miles atm. Going to debadge it soon to come, whenever i get around to it. Remove the original dealership, and the three grand prixs on it.
I did the whole swaybar linkage at end of sway bar. I did not do any motor mounts, sounds like its coming from driver side not sure though, car drives really good after i did the last wheel bearing.
Off topic a little, got this setup yesterday, it was fun getting it in, fit like a glove!
It would only fit in backwards, two alpine type x 12", two alpine pdx 600 amps, stinger power cap, custom box. Cost me 800$ total installed, installation was about 400$, the whole setup i bought for 400$. 08 g6 gt bumpin.![]()
Heres the thing, big corporate places like that are basicly like walmart. They hire people that are willing to work for 9$ an hour because they are primarily over the counter sales. Places like where I work Cap or fisher are more commercial and spend a little more money on there help so garages don't get some retard on the other end. I have 4-5 drivers on at a time going non stop where as when I was at advanced I had 1 maby 2 at most on the busiest days. If you want decent help go to the small privately owned parts stores. You might spend a little more on the part but you will get what you came for where as you go to places like advanced, autozone, oreilys you have to bring them the part number or they are clueless, and even then they look at you like you have 3 heads.
bought trans. #3![]()
Motor mounts on the old man's 04 LeSabre... there's four of them, one on each side. Got the front and both sides done fine in a couple hours... and then on to the back one holding the trans to the cradle. Some genius at GM used two star bit bolts to connect the mount to the cradle. It's got one of those rounded heads that make it impossible to use a vice grip on... and a T-40 is too small, a T-45 is too big, and in any case I would strip it out with the amount of torque needed to get that guy off. So three out of four mounts done, at least.
Rain is forecast the next 3 days so I'll be back this weekend with a grinding wheel and vice grips... neither of which I could find today... or worst case scenario weld a nut to the top of the bolt and get it off that way.
Is there a new post whorzing thread now to

Put a bunch of parts in online shopping carts.
I've got a steering rack, tie rod ends, front lower control arms, and all 4 quick struts. I purposely left off the sway bar links since I do not know if I will even need to replace them, and if I do its something I can get local the same day anyway.
Other than the sway bar links do you guys see anything I missed that I should replace while doing all the other crap?
You should snag the driveshaft and return it LOL
